Renaissance Ridge Report
The Renaissance Ridge Homeowners Association Newsletter
Special Assessment
As first mentioned in last month’s Report, there will be a special assessment for all homes in Renaissance Ridge this summer. Within the next month all homeowners will receive a special, separate invoice that includes the special assessment charge. A letter explaining the reasons for the assessment will accompany that bill. Please be prepared for it so you can pay on time and avoid late fees.
Future Newsletters Will Not be Mailed
In an effort to lower the special assessment and save money, the monthly Renaissance Ridge Report will no longer be mailed to homes. Homeowners should visit the neighborhood web site, www.rridge.org, to read the Report online and stay up to date on meeting notices, social events, and the latest neighborhood news.
As a new service to homeowners, the HOA can e-mail the newsletter to you. Just send an email to newsletter@rridge.org with “Add me” or “Remove me” in the subject line to be added to or removed from the subscriber list. . The newsletter is published every month except on months when there is a neighborhood meeting, so this change goes into effect starting in September.
Park Names
Instead of saying “I’ll meet you at the park near the big houses, near the chain fence, on the south side of Renaissance Ridge”, you can now say “I’ll meet you at Ridgecrest Playground”. The Social Committee organized a Name the Parks event at the Fourth of July Parade, and there were some excellent names nominated for the three main parks in Renaissance Ridge. And the winners are…
v Mountain View Court – North end of the trail and basketball court on 242nd
v Ridgecrest Playground- South end of the trail and play toy on 242nd
v Rock Hill Court – Basketball court and park on 240th
Thank you to everyone who participated and voted in the contest!
Elections Next Month
Interested in making a difference in Renaissance Ridge? Do you have the time and commitment to attend board meetings and field email and phone messages? If so, please run for a position on the HOA board. We need volunteers who have a genuine interest in improving the neighborhood, and who have great organizational skills. Don Corbett, this year’s President-Elect, will be next year’s President. Brett Waldbaum will complete the second year of his term as Secretary. We will be electing a new Vice-President, Treasurer, and Director At-Large at the next board meeting on Saturday, August 17th.
Each home will get
one vote. Homeowners that have not
paid all HOA dues and fines (prior to the July 2002 dues and special
assessment) by the date of the meeting will not be allowed to vote. We need a minimum of 10% of the lots (30
lots) to vote in order to have a quorum.
To help reach this number and improve attendance at the elections and
board meeting, we are conducting the elections here, in the neighborhood. Ballot pick-up and registration begins at
In addition to the two-year positions for Vice-President, Treasurer, and Director At-Large, next year’s board will also be looking for people to chair and participate in the committees for a one-year term. If you would like to help the neighborhood and participate in the committees, please attend the elections and there will be a sign-up sheet. You can read about the responsibilities of the board positions and committees on the neighborhood web site, www.rridge.org.
If you have questions about the election procedure, or if you would like to nominate any of your neighbors you think would be an excellent leader on the board, please call the HOA or send e-mail to elections@rridge.org. If you cannot attend and would still like to run, you can be nominated at the meeting or you can call or email the HOA ahead of time. Nominees will have an opportunity at the meeting to introduce themselves and provide a short statement about why they are running and what ideas they may have.

Summer Mischief
The HOA has received reports from homeowners that vandalism has occurred in our neighborhood this summer. People have used the open area of the trail along 242nd to practice their golfing. Golf balls have been found in homeowners’ yards and a window was broken from a golf ball. Short putting is acceptable, but if you see anybody chipping or practicing full swings, please inform them that for safety’s sake it is not allowed or call the police if they do not stop.
More difficult to repair than broken windows is egg fried on the side of your house. A few weekends ago multiple homes were egged at night. Unnoticed until later the next day, homeowners had to use a ladder and try to scrape off egg that fried onto their siding during the hot day. If you see anybody committing acts of vandalism such as this please contact the police immediately.
