v
Water Audit
Ø
Martin Dunn reported that the Sammamish Plateau
Water and Sewer District told us they would reduce our gigantic water bills for
the Common Areas by almost 50% if we completed a conservation water audit perform by an irrigation management company,
the cost of this audit were $3800.. The
audit was performed, but the results didn’t make the grade required for the
rate reduction. Martin is following up
to make sure that a free audit will be done after sprinkler improvements have
been made so that we get the reduced rate.
(Update since the meeting: We have now passed the Water Audit and will
receive the discounted water rate. This
discount will be in place for the next 3 years and then a simple irrigation
system review that the Water District will perform will allow us to remain on
the program after the 3rd year.)
v
Sign policy
Ø
Martin Dunn reviewed the Renaissance Ridge HOA
sign policy. The policy states that no
posting of signs are allowed in any of the neighborhood Common Areas except
signs that directly benefit Renaissance Ridge residents. No posting of signs by builders, real estate
agents, or other neighborhoods are allowed, except real estate signs that are
specific to a residence in our neighborhood. Only A-frame signs may be used and
they are not to be left out overnight.
Signs have been and will continue to be confiscated that violate this
policy.
v
Back yard landscaping update
Ø
Brett Waldbaum reported that 298 out of 300 back
yards in the neighborhood have been landscaped as of August 17th. Those that were in violation were fined. Thanks to those who have been cooperative in
finishing the back yard landscaping, and to everyone who already has back yards
for taking care of them this summer.
v
No Soliciting signs on mailbox kiosks
Ø
Martin Dunn reported that he investigated
purchasing or making “Post No Bill” signs to fight all the soliciting that
occurs in our mailbox kiosks. The least
expensive signs he could find were $600 for the approximately 40 mailbox
kiosks. The board decided not to
purchase them due to lack of funds.
New Business
v
Special Assessment motion
Ø
Everyone in the neighborhood will be assessed
$90 to make up for the budget shortfall.
The motion was unanimously approved.
v
Motion to increase annual dues 10% for 2003
Ø
The Renaissance Ridge Bylaws state that the
board cannot raise the annual dues assessment by more then 10% per year unless
two-thirds of the members of the Association consent to the increase. The board unanimously approved the motion to
increase dues 10% for 2003. More
information will come with the 2003 projected budget in December.
