Renaissance Ridge Homeowners Association
Board of Directors Meeting
March 22, 2005
MINUTES
1. Meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m.
2. Welcome: Bill
Informed attendees the goals of the HOA are to keep home values up and enforce CC&Rs
3. Introduction of Board Members: all
4. Budget: Bill
Utilities & water – previously we were able to reduce expenditures in this area because of a special program the City of Sammamish offered. The City is currently reevaluating that program. It’s possible costs in this area may go up in the future.
Landscaping
5. Reserve Study: Bill and Scott
The study that the Board commissioned recommends that we set aside $30K per year in a reserve acct. for future repair/maintenance of the common areas
We passed out softcopies of the reserve study and invited homeowners to review the study and offer any opinions on the study to the Board.
6. Mailboxes: All
a number of homeowners are concerned about mail/identity theft
we informed the attendees the plusses and minuses of locking mail kiosks
one homeowner did research on how much it would cost to get a locking mailbox at the post office. It would be $260 per year.
it was decided that we survey the neighborhood to see if homeowners are willing to pay $150 (or more) for uniform locking mailboxes
7. ACC: Suzanne
homeowners were reminded and encouraged to submit any changes to the exterior of their homes (including painting) to the ACC
house painting: we discuss the need to submit a request to the ACC for any change in exterior paint color
homeowners were made aware of a "color pallet" that they could chose from when painting their home
it was suggested that we put the paint colors up on the RR website
it was suggested that we may be able to get a neighborhood discount from a painting company
New Business:
A homeowner noted a water leak in front of Scott Densmore’s house. Scott advised that this had been fixed. We reminded attendees that if they see something that needs to be addressed, the best way to handle it is to email the Board at hoa@rridge.org.
Does it make sense to continue charging the homeowners in the Reserves more dues than the rest of the RR homeowners?
There is a lot of litter in the neighborhood (and throughout Sammamish in general)
Fence along S.E. 8th to the East of 244th (between RR neighborhood and Windsor Greens): who is responsible for repair of that fence
Meeting adjourned.
