Renaissance Ridge Homeowners Association
Board of Directors Meeting
August 27, 2005
MINUTES
Board Attendees:
Bill Provost - President
Scott Densmore – Vice President
Suzanne James – Director at Large
Renee Ragon - Secretary
Approx. number of other
attendees: 12
The meeting was called to
order at 9:08 a.m.
1. Introductions
2. 3 open Board
positions: Treasurer, Secretary, VP
3. If we don’t get
volunteers for Board positions we may be forced to turn
the association over to a property management company
- This will increase dues substantially
- We won’t have as much say or control in neighborhood
matters
4. Architectural
Committee (ACC)
- Currently 2 people on the committee;
we need more volunteers
5. Status of Dues
Collection
- Couple of thousand dollars outstanding
- Dues collection has gotten better
recently
6. CC&Rs
- The CC&Rs need to be rewritten; they
were originally written for a development under construction; there are lots
of provisions that are not applicable to our neighborhood today and there
are a lot of things that need to be clarified
- We have a legal opinion from an
attorney that says we can make decisions to the CC&Rs without a majority
vote of the neighborhood
- The Board understands this issue and
is working to try to fix the CC&Rs.
7. Budget
- The summary from the Capital Reserve
Study we had commissioned is on the website so homeowner’s can review
– fences are the largest cost item
- Does it make sense for the residents
in the Reserve to pay higher dues? Should the rest of the neighborhood be
brought up to what residents in the Reserve are paying?
8. Traffic
safety
- Lots of concern about cars
speeding (esp. on 244th)
- To get stop signs, the City would need
to conduct a 2 year study of our neighborhood
- A child riding a bike was recently hit
by a car in the neighborhood
- Police determined the accident was not
the fault of the driver and speed was not an issue
- We have a police officer residing in
RR and he has offered to see about getting a device
that can be placed near the street which will provide us with various
driving data in the neighborhood
- Some residents are working with the
City to see about getting some “Children at Play”
signs added to the entrances. There is no cost for these signs. The
neighborhood must sign a petition. Ross and Sandy Cartmell offered to go
around to homeowners to try to get signatures on the petition.
9. Crime Rate
- The crime rate in the neighborhood is
less than one half of one percent. This is very good.
10. Other Business
- Post Office for Sammamish
– if homeowners want to see a post office in Sammamish they
should write or email Senator Maria Cantwell to express support
The Meeting adjourned at 10:20
